My sisters were watching it so I join them. They were screaming and covering their eyes in horror. I covered my eyes too so I could nap through half of the movie. It was so boring, a root canal would had been more eventful and exciting.
She lied to the Military Police guarding the D-Day embarkation docks in England and snuck onboard a hospital ship to become the only woman and war journalist to land on Normandy beach on D-Day.
After D-Day she was arrested by the British Military Police and stripped of her war journalist credential.
But she was able to convince the war department to permit her to continue covering the war::
she re-embed herself into the troops and followed them til the end of the war in Europe including being present at The Battle Of The Bulge and at the liberation of Dachau concentration camp.
She was married to author Ernest Hemingway, his 3rd wife, and had a love affair with General Gavin
I just saw Ferrari, with Adam Driver, Penelope Cruz and more. I was unsure about Driver, and no one wanted to go with me to see it in the theater, so I finally saw it by myself. It was for the best. I am a film lover and a racing fan, but not everyone is.
I really liked the film and Adam Driver was excellent in my opinion. It is a serious movie, a long movie, with very good action (well done), but a serious movie nevertheless. Not a dime was spared and if a misstep was made I didn't catch it.

Thanks for your review Tarnsman. I'll be checking this out before too long and also by myself because I know my wife will have zero interest in this. She's still giving me a hard time for dragging her to see "Rush".

I dragged my wife to see Rush as well. She loved it But then she has quite a similar taste in movies to mine, except for science fiction, which she can’t stand. We have seen Rush, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Hot Fuzz, Inception and Drive together, among others of course, and she likes them all.
In all my years I've never seen the like. It has to be more than a hundred sea miles and he brings us up on his tail. That's seamanship, Mr. Pullings. My God, that's seamanship!
Yes, I watched it here in England recently where it is streamed on one of the free terrestrial channels. I didn't realise it was 'terminated', as the last episode had a conclusion.

That show features a lot of wonderful Lena Headey before her more famous days as Cersei Lannister.

John, Sarah and the girl terminator jumping into the future to meet Kyle Reese and a future John Connor and it wasn't the same future and Sarah didn't make it
and the series was cancelled.

It was an expensive show for Fox and this was back in the pre-streaming era when shows had to attract a lot more viewers in order to justify their production costs.

Still watching Ironside. It is an American television crime drama that aired on NBC over eight seasons from 1967 to 1975. The show starred Raymond Burr as Robert T. Ironside.
We're ending season 4 (3 more shows).
We like it because it has so much variety in the plots.
Most of our "detective" series have been about Murder. In "Murder oriented series", each TV show is like the last in a "general sense".
Ironside has the "variety". Many don't involve murder -- for example, a couple shows were about "saving young folks" from a life of crime.
Last one we watched saved two young folks from a life of crime; AND, saved the self-esteem of an 80 year old relative; also, prevented some related non-murder crimes -- all in the same nominal 1hr show.
A television series from the mid-1970s. probably unknown Stateside; 'The Sweeney"*, a fictional representation of London's Flying Squad. Misogynistic geezers smoking, drinking, thumping suspects, swearing and carrying 'shooters' in such a casual and risky way that would give you Americans more familiar with weaponry conniptions. Spouting great lines such as: "We're the Sweeney son, and we ain't 'ad our dinner!" "Put yer trousers on Sunshine, you're nicked mate!"
Great Un-wokeish fun!
