To the Victors
At The End Of The Day
The awards were handed out to the victors and the matches for 2v2 were shaping up, but it was after three in the afternoon and the temperature, which had started out cold that morning, was rapidly growing unforgivable. I didn’t want to get stranded in Dallas, so I began my journey home, but not before we all shook hands and promised to keep in touch. Friends were made among people who hadn’t met, but were drawn together by the common love of a hobby we were all enthusiastic about. On the way home, I reflected that a small number of men and women had chosen to brave this ugly weather in order to compete and share experiences with complete strangers, forging friendships and learning more about simulated flight, their shared passion, along the way. It is events (and fans) like this that will keep our genre alive far more than the latest release.
