We Need Guns… Lots of Guns… and Cluster Bombs, Napalm, and the Occasional Guided Missile…
Now that you have your new aircraft, it’s time to start adjusting them to carrying weapons.
One of the neat things TK did was include the option of giving weapons a NATO or Warsaw Pact attachment. What that does for you is easily enable aircraft to carry weapons they’re not ordinarily supposed to. Got a Libyan Mirage and you want it to use French hardware? No problem.
While the nationality of the aircraft is one of the first things you see in the aircraft’s data.ini file, the weapons stations are way down at the bottom and these are critical if you want anything to show up in the Loadout screen’s weapons list before a mission. What I did was not only give it a WP tag, but also included a new nation, Russia. Worked like a charm.
Copy the weapon in question, give it a Warsaw Pact attachment and make the sure the nation name in the Weapons Editor reads “Libya” and you’re golden. Your Mirage is now ready to fire French weaponry at friendly aircraft. Again, you’ve violated seven UN resolutions and at least one US arms trade embargo. You happy now? Should’ve expected this from you, you know. Next thing we know, you’ll be kicking puppies, selling stolen wheelchairs, and telling us Picard was better than Kirk.

Now, the Mirage Factory’s Weapons Pack for Wings Over Israel is awesome, it really is. There’s so much stuff there, it’s impossible to keep track of it all and the nice thing about it is that it corrects a lot of the deficiencies that I thought the stock weapons set had in WOI.
