Graphics and Sounds
What can I say, Rainbow Six: Vegas is beautiful. This is one of the most colorful games I’ve ever seen. It’s on par with the Far Cry tropical island look. A lot of red and a lot of lights. When you’re flying overhead in your helicopter, you can see thousands of cars stopped on the highway, and if you keep looking, you’ll see emergency service vehicles running code three (lights and sirens) to the frontline. You’ll see the Vegas Strip like it has never been produced in a computer game. Then you’ll have all the lights and sounds of the casinos. Flowing water from the fountains. Even big fish tanks!
The character animations are incredible. When you watch your team enter a room, watch, their movements, they are fluid, fast, and they slide their bodies around the door frames with not a simple pivot turn. I do believe that the game textures are reduced in multiplayer mode, because they don’t look as crisp as in the single player campaign.
The sounds are just incredible. The sounds of the casinos, the gunfire and explosions. The sounds of the bad guys calling for help, or yelling at a partner to flank you.
Be warned though, this title is rated M for a reason. The language is very adult orientated, a little too much in my opinion. But I’m OK with it.
