The de Havilland DHC-2 Beaver will be another favorite for back-country travelers. Once again the VC is well done. It is mentioned in the Learning Center, and it certainly felt to me, that FSX models the different phases of waterborne operation including displacement taxiing, plowing, getting on the step, and sailing (being pushed around by the wind). Once you are on the water it can be a real challenge to get your craft going in the right direction for pickups and drop-offs. I zipped right past the guy on the dock and ended up stuck on the shoreline without any means of backing off. Had I read the manual I would have also learned that you are supposed to raise the water rudders for takeoff and landing, which might explain my “quirky” performance in the Goose earlier.
Proof that animals do exist in FSX! Chickens in the barn and birds in the air! (I know what you’re thinking… can you fly through the barn?)
