New Scenarios and Campaign
A number of standalone missions, a couple dozen brand new Quick Battle Maps and a completely new Marines campaign are included in the Module.
There has also been a ton of improvements, and add-ons like a new and improved interface, new sounds and smoke effects, especially with the artillery and air support. (The forward observer and the radio traffic from either artillery support or air support are incredible, and adds much to the feel of combat.) Infantry and vehicle movement and animations have been improved; infantry will now fire on the move. Secondary explosions, and ammo cook off’s that do damage to nearby units. There is just so much to this add-on; the best place to get a complete list is at Battlefronts web site.

My Opinion
OK, I admit I was about to give up on this game and Battlefront. But they really redeemed themselves with this module. The maps are bigger, tank battles are more realistic because of distance, and there’s finally room to maneuver and use some modern warfare tactics. CMSF Marines is not, in my opinion, a classic like the first three WW2 themed games, but it is now a great game, and heading in the right direction. Maybe in a module or two, we might just have another classic.
Performance wise, I should mention that I now average about 40 fps with everything maxed, including 4x AA. I use to get 7 fps on this same machine with CMSF.
If you have CMSF and still play it, then this module is highly recommended. But if you’re still angry, and don’t want to give Battlefront anymore money for a less then par game, then don’t fret… a patch is coming out any day now that will bring your CMSF all the fixes and features of the Marine add-on, minus the Marines, their equipment, their maps, etc., etc… but you’ll get the game core fixes and updates.
But when you do, and if you like it, by all means forgive Battlefront and buy this add-on.
